Browning vs. Bear Short bow

Hello,
Seeking out opinions from folks who have shot 1970's models of both a Browning Nomad Stalker (or other 52" Browning model) and a Kodiak Magnum as to which is the better shooting bow.

Hi,I took this years turkey with my 1965 Kodiak Magnum and it shoots like a dream for such a short AMO.Love it!

Having shot the Cobra 1 and K-Mags, I found the Browning to be a tad more sluggish. The wide limbs just didn't have the snap of the Bear bows.

That being said, I have not shot the Nomad Stalker, and the Cobra 1 was 50".

I have had both bows and think they are both fine shooting bows.I think the old Brownings are an underated bow,maybe not as popular as a Bear K-Mag.I also bought me nephew a Browning Wasp 34#@28 when he was 12 years old.I don't know what his draw length was or the arrow weight,but it shot some 5/16" POC through a chrony at 135 fps. I thought that was pretty fast for a young guy and the bow is a sweet shooting bow.A couple of years later I picked him up a Browning Nomad Stalker 45#@28.I like both the older Bears and Browning's.

I had both at the same time 2 years ago, same poundage. Bears are more popular, but the Browning I had was much smoother, did not stack, and was a hhhaaammmer! Both of my bows were #55, and the bear stacked badly last 2 inches of draw. I could shoot the Browing with 3 under and do well. Just my 2 cents worth.

I've had both as well.  Sold the Browning's and still have the Bears.  I love the kmag grip and at my 27" draw, no stacking.  When it comes to vintage 52" bows, I like the Bears and Wing Hunters.

I have a Magnum 52" and sold time ago one S-Mag 48" from my little Bear bows collection .... I know  that Bear make his model without Draw Limits and for my 30" draw this is very important. A friend of mine have one 52" Browning bow and IMHO I don't change my Magnum with another 52" bow.

Kenny, I think anyone even remotely connected with contaminating our house of Bear will have to face serious consequences.  It may be worth it to me to do just that one day.  It would have to be one fine bow though.

I have a specimen of both from the 70's. The Browning Nomad is no doubt smoother. The Bear K Mag is faster and has a more comfortable, less bulky grip but isn't as sweet shooting. Both are good bows though.
