Is 18 strands of TS-1 Plus safe for my Silvertip?

I just built an 18 strand TS-1 Plus string for my 66# Silvertip. It looks like it has a slightly smaller diameter than the one that came with the bow originally for the 80# limbs. Is 18 strands of this stuff safe?

Thanks, Felix! Being new to string-making, I'm looking for reassurance or otherwise!

I shoot 12 strands on my 63# Kwyk Styk Ben.  You should be just fine

TS1+ is all I twist, I use 12 strands with an extra 6 strands in each loop. I know that the Tomahawk bows come with 18 strand TS1+. That's what the replacement string is that 3 Rivers sells. I really like TS1+.....

My favorite material too. 12 strands will handle anything a human can pull. It is several times stronger than B-50 per strand and the strands are thinner.

I use 8 strands of TS1 on a 70# shrew classic hunter, and I tried shooting 6 strands for a while before I backed off to 8.  18 might even be a bit overkill.

I shoot 12 strand TS-1 on my 58# Kempf Stealth and 54# longbow, no problems.

Ask a question, get an answer. Several, in fact.

Awesome.

Thanks, all. The main thing I wanted to know was that 18 strands at the loops is fine (not savage). I know that my 18 strands on the actual string is fine (very conservative these days).

Actually, speaking of how cool TradGang is: This is the first string I've made for my Silvertip, and it turned-out nice. I even made it one inch shorter than I usually would've for a 62" recurve, because I saw where Sergio had posted about Silvertip strings being an inch shorter, just the other day.
