I am out this year (new baby). Who has plans to be there in September? Where are you going? Will have to live through the hunts here this year. Can't stop thinking about those bulls.

This year I will be hunting local mainly. I'm lucky to have elk just up the canyon it's not the best unit but it's close to home. Staying home for a kid is a great reason, may end up packing your elk out for you when your old. I do understand, this was going to be my first year going out of state for deer and elk but the economy did that idea in. We will keep the campfire lite for you until next year.

Awesome pic's!! Were planning to be in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains of Colorado, this fall. Bow in hand and wind in our face. This ole soul needs refreshed in the mountains.

Take the wife and kid to camp with you.  Make sure to hunt close to a campground and the wife can be happy and content in camp while you hunt days, and spend time with her and the kid at night.  I have pics of me at less than a year old in a baby basket sitting near the fire in hunting camp.  I was so bundled up you could only see my eyes.  I took my kids out at very  young ages.  bundle them up, keep them warm, and keep the wife happy by coming back to camp for lunch.  Take a day off and just hang with her and the kid.

Children shouldn't change your life.  The should just be added into it.  Pioneers, indians, early homesteaders never let a kid change what they did and neither should you.  Pack the little tyke up and get em started early.  By two years old you can put them in a kiddy backpack and tag em along on the hunt.  Just take food, water, and diapers and your in business.
