William Long

Hi, everyone, I would like to introduce myself. My user name is slingarrowbill in public I go by Bill. I am new to the traditional bow, and would like to thank my good friend longarrow for getting me into this sport. I have hunted with rifles and that other bow we will not mention. I did 28 years in the Army and you go in young and come out old. I currently work at Fort Bliss as a DOD civilian.  I look forward to learning about traditional bows and with longarrow helping me, it shouldn't be to long before I am in the hunt. That's how I received my name from longarrow, because I can sling arrows....

My name is Elmer Servis 57 years old lived in the state of Illinois then state of Washington and then back to Illinois.

I have been married since I was 18 to the same woman. Have one child a son who is 36 now, but still acts like a teenager frequently.

I started shooting an old Ben Pearson at 12 years old. I then  got a recurve until, I got into dating the girls. I quit bow hunting for a few years then got back into it after being married a few years. Made the move to compounds for about 5 years then back to traditional for more years than I can remember now. I started my son shooting at about 8 years old. We spent most of my spare time at the local archery range shooting together. I guess I pushed him to much at a young age because he chose not to hunt after a couple years. That was one of my biggest disappointments in my life.

I retired last years after working at Caterpillar for 37 years as an Experimental Mechanic.  Basically it amounted to doing repairs and testing on how much misuse the equipment would take before busting.

Looking forward to spending some long hours hunting now since I have lots of time.
