New user name, how?

I want to do 2 things and don't know where to post it. 1. I want to change my user name and 2. I want to add one of my photo's to my avatar? I'm an old guy and not very computer savvy. any one tell me where to go to get a tutorial or help? Do I have to contact a moderator to change user name?
