I'm geting a new longbow made around 50-52lbs at 27in and dont know where to start as far as arrows should i stick with wood or go to carbon or aluminum.

I mostly use aluminum and you should be good with 2016's for a 28" arrow.

If you're shooting wood now, I'd stick with that for a while. Don't want to change too many things at the same time. After you've had your new bow for a while, and are shooting good with her is the time to (maybe) try carbon or aluminum arrows.

Just My 2 cents.....

Start with aluminum and get things shooting the way you want them. Once you learn what your bow likes, then try wood or carbon. Personally, I would rather shoot a compound than shoot carbon fiber arrows from my longbow, but others like them. I much prefer a wood shaft. I can build them. I like shooting them, as do a lot of other longbow shooters. But they are not for everyone. Only you will know.
