I was going to fletch up some of the new AD's I got and install the inserts.

Questions are about AD's ok

My first AD's and was wondering if you do anything special for you stumping arrows on the front end or do they hold up ok?

My beman MFX's nocks used to come out too how are the AD's.

next one:

So do you use the brass inserts or the aluminum ones that come with it (I have both).

I am leaning the way of the brass (100 grains)and it would be easy to change later.

Just have to do something tonight - finished my rehab exercises for my elbow and tendons and I have a hour or two before I hit the sack.

Last one:

Do you guys use the same shafts for your FLU FLU's too?

Sorry probably just need some valum, but making arrows will be calming

USE THE BRASS!!!

These arrows are so wonderfully forgiving of the heavy front end and MAN OH MAN do they take a punishment!    :scared:

I DELIBERATELY drove a 200 gn tip screwed into a 100 gn brass insert riding on a cut-to-30" AD and it drove clear to the brass through 3/4 plywood!!

I had to know...    :knothead:

i use the 100gr brass up front on mine. Only problem i've had with stumping is the nock popping out and hairline cracks in that end of the arrow. i'm sure nock collars and/or swapping them with g-nocks would definitely help. otherwise these are rock solid!

Nocks are they always this loose?

I just pulled them out of the pack and three out of the six I am going to fletch up have real loose nocks

is this normal?

perhaps, i've only had one dozen myself but some were looser than they should have been. did some searching on this a while ago and the consensus seemed to be swap out the stock nocks.

Hi Jer,

I would recommend the BRASS inserts.
I would also use the same shafts for FLU FLU`S.
As you already know, I love to foot them on both ends as well.

As for the loose nocks: cover the nock end of the shaft with a plastic bag and push the nock in. It works great for me.
Hope that helps.
Like that arrow pic. Is that an AD shaft. Where did you get them from?

PS. Don`t forget to do your rehab exercises for elbow and tendons.

Here are a few options for the nocks.

Grizzly Stik nocks, they will fit tighter and last longer.

5/16" glue on Classic Nock and a grizzly stik nock adapter.

An AD nock adapter cut down to accept a Bohning F nock or Easton G nock.  Some people use the 3-28 uni-bushing, I don't because it fits loosly in the shaft and is alot shorter than AD's.

I use the nock adapters and the index nocks on my Heritage 150's! Pretty slick, this combo has saved a few arrows for me, kinda protects them from getting robin hooded! The adapter and nocks were garbage but the arrows were fine!

Ok thanks all i will get hold of 3 rivers and place yet another order. Sure wish they would just suggest some of this stuff on the site.

Guess I would have been farther ahead phoning them first. I order most of mt stuff online...have to. You get great service there just don't get a real person.

Daniel: They are AD's from 3 rivers - look like great shaft, but the nocks don't fit great. You think if you built such a great shaft that they would spend the time getting the nocks to be great too - or just send them with the adapters or what ever makes them best.

Well I had order some extra nocks from alaskabowhunting supply for the safari's (12) white ones. I tried 8 before I founf one that would work in the trouble shaft.

Hmmmmm
