6 Fletch vs, Flu Flu

I was wondering how much a 6 fletch 5" Shield cut feather will slow down compared to a regular 4 or 6 fletch flu flu?? Any ideas? I know the flu flu will slow down quicker but is the other worth the try?

I used 6 fletch arrows for small game arrows, I thought they would have slowed down faster, I have never shot Flu flus, I think Flu Flu would slow it down better. I only noticed a difference in drop at 40 yards compared to 3 fletch. But they are a great stabilized spinning arrow in flight. I am going to use them for Turkey arrows and I think they would help alot using really large Broadheads. The reason I made them is I didn't have any flu flus, so I took an arrow that had 3 120 degree fletched feathers and used 3 more used feathers I had stripped off and old arrow and fletched between them with the blitzenburger. I think theyre a great use for old mix matched feathers.

Spiral fletch slows em down really fast and saves on feathers

I Like the Idea of the Long Feather Spiraled around the Arrow Myself. They Seem to Slow Down Quicker!! For that Type, Spiral, How Many Feathers does the Average Shooter Use? 2 or 3?

Compared to a 6 fletch, 4" length, full height
flu-flu, not much at all. If you have some fletch tape,
fletch up arrow with shield and give 'er a try.
Afterwards, use some gentle heat (hair dryer) -to remove the fletches if desired.

I use one if I do spiral fletch, but you can use 2 or 3 but in my opinion 3 is to many..its cool to take two or 3 different feathers and make sort of a spiral splice per say

Spiral is WAY to slow for me, I dont know about 5" sheilds but I just made my first 6 fletch the other day, using 4" sheilds, and it was too fast.  I had a thread about my first 8 fletching arrow, still have been too snowed in to test the darn thing.  And it is driving me crazy.  But hopefully tommorrow if I finish my tanning my deer hide in time I will test it out!  I know that I shot 5.5 high backs and they were only 3 and it slowed my arrow down almost as much as a flu flu.  I want to find a arrow that is slow like a flu flu without the big feathers, cause when they are in my quiver they make noise when I shoot!

Well I just went out and shot a 6 fletch, they still move pretty quick! I'm betting they will go pretty far shooting into the air and a bird or aerial!

I made myself some 6-fletch arrows 5 inch trad cut, and my sons some 4-fletch  flu-flu for aerial target....flu-flu travel approx. 40 yds, and 6-fletch travel 60 yds.
