In 1976 I bought this Damon Howatt Hunter bow 55@28" 58" long, they only made them in this length from 1976 to 1980.It was my go to for 24 years and took a bunch of small game and quite a few deer. She was retired in 2001 when I bought my Bob Lee takedown. She was really ragged out tip had split,I glued it back, nicks, scratches and painted three colors, leather grip discolored grip area.I removed the paint and sent it to bowdoc and came back beautiful but getting a little heavy for me.Every day at my office I kept seeing the bow over my door and wanted to put the bow back in the field.Joe(whip)Lasch to the rescue. He took her and reduced the weight by 4 lbs.put a new finish and even found decals and marked her with the new wgt.Perfect, beautiful and a work of art. This bow will be with me on a few hunts next year for sure.If any you have some older bows that may be a little heavy and not as easy to handle give Joe a call at Prairie Traditions LLC (a sponser here)your bow will be in good hands.Kip

I may not have made my thread as clear as it should have been.Bowdoc did refinish it about three or four years ago and did a great job.Joe Lasch has just last month removed some weight and also refinished and new decals and did a great job also.I just recently decided maybe to hunt with it again so the wgt. reduction was done.Kip

Woops.......sorry for that oversight Joe.  Didn't want to slight anyone associated with this fine job.......from Kip's post it looks like kudos to both bowdoc and Whip.  She looks fresh as a newly sprouted daisy.

Just saw this thread for the first time - thanks for the kind words Kip!  I can't tell you how nervous I was following up a Bowdoc job. He is The Master at this stuff and sets the bar high!
