Do regular ol' hot-glue-gun sticks work or are we talkin' about a special breed here? [/b]
I was using the cheap-@ss sticks that came with the gun. Nothing special.

Sometimes after I use the hot melt my inserts are not flush with the end of the arrow.  When this happens, I just heat a little water on the stove, stick the end of the arrow in the water and soften the glue enough to seat the insert flush with the end of the arrow. It does not take long and I rarely have problems with the insert coming out.
