Mudd, it is hot, only cooled slightly because I have one on loan to shoot right now..sent you a pm. I am going to buy one just don't know what configuration right now.

Leatherneck, Longbowben, guys thanks for the offer to catch up with you to shoot your bows on your fishing trip. However, after shooting the loaner, there is no need. See my note to Mudd..going to buy one.

And of course, all this said if the LORD wills,

OK, I let the string go this week. Called Jim and ordered a MOAB. I will send the loaner home Monday.

This is a BIG Shout out for Jeff Cooper in Alaska, for he is the TradGanger who shipped and loaned his bow. Sorry Jeff if you are bashful, but the world needs to know who good people are.  :clapper:    :clapper:    :clapper:

Mudd, How did Jim's trip to Missouri turn out for you? Great I hope, so you can tell me about the 62" verses 60".

The bad news is that Jim couldn't make the trip because of a winter storm. The good news is Jeff Struberg was nice enough to drag out his 62" MOAB for me to shoot today at the UBM Festival In Jeff City.

The conclusion is both the 60" and the 62" are  real shooters with great point-ability(hit where you look). I wouldn't turn down either and could live with either one.

What made the difference for me was after talking with Jim and finding out he had one that was as close as I could ask for a bow.

The result is........ wait for it....lol

My bow is being mailed out Monday!!! Yahoo!!
Bamboo with bacote diamond wood riser. 62" and 54@28.

I can't say the fever is better... in fact it might be worse!!...lol Congratulations on your bow order and I'm soooo very glad I don't have to wait very much longer.

God bless,Mudd

Mudd, glad to see you're joining Club MOAB. You will never be disappointed in it, that I can assure you. I own 2, a 60 and a 62". I shoot the same arrows from each, and can shoot pretty much any arrow I have laying around, they are very forgiving as far as arrow spine etc. I have shot other longbows, and no disrespect to the others, I always find mself comparing to Jim's Thundersticks. My wife bought a T-stick III a couple years ago at GLLI, and its a shooter too.

Jim is a top notch bowyer, a great guy, and makes a helluva bow.

Naw, just missed it I guess. Really, I spent most of the evening last making an assessment for my 5th graders--Unit Test. Therefore, I only glanced at the TradGang.

Checked it out, replied, and awaiting pictures and further evaluation. Keep me up to speed on the skinny harness because I have never used them and plan on trying after reading some of George Stout's comment about old dogs and new tricks.

Mudd, don't hurt yourself shooting those new strings in tomorrow.

Got the scoop and the "glue". Thanks man, as a science teacher that link was great. Knew about laminin, but not what it looked like.

My "glue" is an awesome GOD!
