Whats the best way to cut Carbon arrows if a guy doesnt have a arrow saw?....i need a home made solution here....any Ideas?  Dremel? i saw a attachment for dremmel today that had a mini sawblade, teeth almost like a hack saw, would that just splinter the heck outa them? or does a dremmel spin fast enough?

Thanks, Jason  :)

No and NO on the teeth.  Use a high speed cut off wheel only. A dremel will work, use care in making a square cut.

If you are close by I will cut them for you.

Harbor Freight has a mini cut off saw for $20.00. Works great.

I use the dremel with the carbon looking wheel.and after the cut you can put against the face of the wheel to get a square finish.BE VERY CAREFUL

I use an ordinary hack saw.
Just need to cut right around the shaft in even layers.
Don't try to cut straight through or you will split the top layers as the saw come out the bottem side.
I've been doing it with Easton,Goldtip, and Carbon express for around 15 years with never an issue. When I first started shooting carbons you could by an arrow saw kit from Apple that contained a hack saw blade.
litigation by people that couldn't/wouldn't read the instructions probably saw the end of that kit.
Winning or losing is not the important thing,,the important thing is how well you played the game.

That was the one I came up with on a search.  I just wasn't sure it was the same one.  So does it come with the correct blade for cutting carbons?

I was using a grinder with a cut off wheel. Had to make a few cuts to get to my length. That was ok as it gave me a chance to warm up. I now have a cut off saw.

I use a dremel with a grinding disk.No teeth. It spins fast enough to do a nice job.I do what Ipcjon2 does to even the cut if its off a little. And you can use the dremel for other projects too.

Concur, but I will add just put a few bucks aside & buy the arrow saw ASAP.  One of the best archery investments I ever made...

If you already have a Dremel type tool, do this:

I went to Sears and bought a package of their best reinforced cut-off wheels and this setup works great for me. I just used scrap wood I found laying around and rigged it up. The rpm I think goes up to 30,000, plenty enough for carbon arrows. Wasn't my idea though, got it from another Tradgang member.
