I am looking to get some Sitkas or AD trads but was wondering how to cut them.It seems like they would be cut at an angle if you lated them flat in the cutoff saw??? Thanks,Izzy

Im not positive, but I think they cut the insert end with tapered carbons....

Is the entire shaft tapered or only the front end?

Don't know about grizzly's for sure but I bet it is the same as the AD's, there is a portion of the point end that is parallel and then tapered from there to the nock.  It is not a continuous taper from point to nock otherwise the insert wouldn't fit right when you cut them from full length to 28".  On the AD's if you cut the nock end you will change the fit of the nock because of the taper.  dino
