My wife is planning a trip this summer from our home in VT to the Victor Idaho region. I was wondering if anyone has any idea of how good of the hunting and fishing, particulalry bowhunting for deer in the Victor Idaho region is. I have never been to this part of the copuntry, any infor would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Looks like that's just a long stone's throw from Jackson Hole! I've hunted only in north-central Idaho, but I can't imagine all those elk in northwestern Wyoming stop at the state line. Ought to be some good hunting around Victor.

It is one half houer from Jackson Hole. Any idaho hunters have info?

elbow, the fly fishing in the area is world class, especially north of Victor on the Henry's fork.

The bow season starts on Aug. 30 for deer and elk, but I've never hunted that valley so have no info.
So don't wait until you retire to go hunting and fishing.  Don't even wait for your annual vacation.  Go at every opportunity.  Things that appear urgent at the moment may, in the long run, turn out to be far less so.

The hunting was good while I was growing up there(St. Anthony), I suspect with the management programs that have been going on, you will be in a regular paradise there. Be prepared to walk.

Right at the base of the Tetons on the west side.  Seed potato farm country.  Been 40 years since I raised hell there.  Try Bitch Creek North end of valley.  I'll bet it is still super fly fishing.  So cold it numbs your legs before you can wade accross it.  Water right off the Tetons.  Of course all that area is loaded with deer and elk and grizzlies.
