dacron strand count

Hello guys.I have a 45 # Bear Minuteman that needs a new string, I have an old spool of green dacron material. How many strands do i need for the bow? thanks

I usually use 12 strands of B50 on my 45# Black Bear.

I've never used more than 12 strands on bows up to 70#.

I'm with Bill-in fact, I'm kind of glad to hear someone else prefers lighter than usual strings. I'm currently making most of my strings from BCY B-500 and it has a slightly higher tensile strength than B-50 Brownell but 12 strands is standard for me on bows 65-71#.   Grant
