I am buying a bow for my wife and trying to decide what wood to use for veneers in the limb lams.  Show me what you've got and what you think is best.  This one has to be a beauty.
Thanks - Bob Urban

If it's not going to be a surprise to her. Let her pick. She will be more proud.
If the boyer you choose uses veneers, the type of wood won't affect the bow enough to make a difference so pick away.
I built my wife a bow with some beautiful Coco. She liked it enough. Later, with her permission, I sold it at a shoot. There was a young lady there that just couldn't live without it and I didn't have any more in that pound category.
For her new bow, I asked my wife to pick out the wood. She picked myrtl burl. She seems to be more attached to this one, I think because she took part in the decision process.

I just try to live my life in a way that would have made my father proud.

That's the plan Jim - have her pick out the lams but I want pictures of some nice ones for her to look at and choose from.  The cores are going to be bamboo but it is the veneers that she has to pick. She is kind of leaning towards Tulip wood but still want to see some of the nice bows out there

Bob,
The easy way to see a-lot of limb wood choices is to go into the sponsor list.  Go into all the bow makers web sights.  That will probably in the long run give you way more woods to look at.  Or just use the search engine on this site.
What would you attempt to do, if you knew you could not fail?

Never leave the one you love, for the one you like.
