Jerseyboy, my ex was/is an avid hunter. She's killed over 70 deer, including several with the bow. Would you like her number?? She's 62 and a bit plump now, but still going strong.   :)

My present wife doesn't like wild game, but she supports my hunting since hitting a deer with her car.

I guess thats what i get for having one of those high maintanence gals. Shes 47 and gets mistaken for my daughter. I guess there is no nirvana after all
And in the end when i can no longer draw the bow or watch the arrow embark on its flight;when i posses only the spirit of the hunter, i will hunt.... if only in my dreams... because the hunt is born amidst my soul, and i... i am the hunter

Jerseyboy you have to come out of the woods once and a while and head to south Jersey we have'em If I had a second job as a pimp I would get you one...LOL

Guess it's different when you hunt to feed the family but Tracy is my best and only hunting partner. She isn't as experienced as I am but she brings an enthusiasm to the hunt that is infectious!

I guess that makes me super lucky!! I have a georgeous wife that hunts like mad! Every second she can get too. I introduced her to the outdoors and she really took to it. She has taken two deer now with her compound bow and is chomping at the bit for more!! She reminds me of my journey through my learning process, it just as fun to watch her mistakes as remember mine and I rarely get "buck fever" myself but I get it everytime I am over her shoulder!! Great stuff! Great thread!

My wife did not hunt until I started taking her last year.  She killed her first deer this weekend and told me that she could not believe she hit it because "she was shaking beyond control and her heart was pounding in her ears".  Looks like season will be shared now...

I can't say to much bad about my wife on here as she reads this site like some do a good book.(Like if there is anything bad about her) She is learning alot of things on here about the trad world and people. Greywolf never hunting in her life. Never had anyone want to teach her an she grew up working two many jobs to survive.  This is a women a man waits all his life dreaming to have. She spents as much time in the outdoors as i do, and the only time she complains about me hunting or fishing is when she can't go with me. She is a natural. Outfished me this past summer and is trying to surpass me on deer this fall. Being a Native girl she has taught me to open my eyes more than i have in the past to the little things in our hunts. My girl isn't a material girl unless it's camo and equipment for hunting or fishing. Tough as nails and can gut a buck, thats my baby.  I love you girl.

Awseome post! Sounds like there is some fine women around an awful lot of us here. I also must say that my very soon to be wife is very supportive of my hunting dang near every night after work and most weekends. She dosen't complain at all she is always excited when I get somthing or even if i don't. I love the fact that when I come home she will sit and listen to my stories and ask a milion questions! I took her along on a hunt about a week ago and we had a huge 5x5 come in right under the stand. I couldn't get a shot though. When the deer had gone she whispered to me WOW how cool was that. I think I am going to have to move that stand though because the two of us were shaking so bad we had to crack that tree somewhwere! Now she has a longbow on the way and as soon as she is ready she says she will be in the woods. I am a very fortunate man to have such a good woman standing beside me always. I love you Jodee Sue.
Its not the size of the animal you hunt that matters. Its how you hunt the animal.

jerseyboy

Im jealous of you fortunate ones. Keep the fire burning guys thats all i have to say
And in the end when i can no longer draw the bow or watch the arrow embark on its flight;when i posses only the spirit of the hunter, i will hunt.... if only in my dreams... because the hunt is born amidst my soul, and i... i am the hunter

I am so thankful, that I have gotten my wife into hunting the last 8 years. Now I will admit, I figured this would keep her from griping about hunting expenses, but she has took to it like a fish to water, dead serious, and a better hunter than most men. She has taken 14 deer, and this year got drew for and harvested a 4x4 bull elk here in KY! So far this year she has the biggest buck, nice 8pt, 100 class, 170# field dressed , and with a bow. She bow, ML, and gun hunts with me. She really hunts hard, helps me build blinds, can even gut and skin her own deer. And if she is tagged out,she will can one I have killed for future use.Come to think of it I do have a lot to be thankful for dont I guys!

Sounds good, wait till you are married and then you can re-post.If the alimony payment doesn't keep you from paying for your internet service. It all changes when you get hitched, resistance is futile.Just find a good one and you may be able to have your way...LOL

Ya I've got one of the great one.  Never a word..but we do have an agreement there are 52 weeks and weekeds a year I get two weeks and 7 weekends to hunt she can have MOST of the rest of them.  Fair is fair.

Joe
PS I said she never conplains although last year towards the end of Elk season she asked how much longer it was?  I thought she was going to object.  but no when I said it is just one more weekend  she said "GOOD BECAUSE YOUR NOT LOOKNG TO GOOD"
