I have a PSE longbow and love it I don't know of the Montana but for a first bow the PSE is the right price and a great shooting bow.

It was my first longbow, killed the deer in my avatar with it last year! Great bows, quiet no hand shock and hits pretty hard! I am more than pleased with this bow, bought and sold several other bows since then and will always shoot the montana!

I have had 2, still have one. Real plain janes but good hunting bows. Tough to beat for the money and they perform well. I shot heavy arrows from mine and they were almost silent with just wool puffs. Good hard working bows...I think there are a couple on the classifieds right now!!!

I take mine to the woods everyday. As Ron said nothing fancy, but very good for the price.

I have one in 50#, my cousin has one in 55#. We both REALLY like them.

These are great bows hidden in the bottom rank of plane Jane underdogs. A slight string follow mild R/D bow that is easy to shoot accurately, handles heavy arrows well and is quiet. They are not fast, but plenty fast enough for hunting. The design is so stable and solid that I have used it for a pattern for a bow form and so has Charlie Lamb for his Sundbear longbow. You can pick up used ones from the classifieds and even the new price is well below most "custom" used bows. Great place to start, and if you avoid bow buying and selling addiction, you can just stay with the Montana.
