Just got my 1st dz gold tips love em but I'm looking to remove the logo on the arrow any one know the best way to get it done don't want to use solvent on and mess up the shafts

joekeith

I just use a little acetone on a rag and wipe it off.  Never had any problems, and it has never messed up the shafts.  Good luck.

acetone works good /but dont get it on the knock it will eat it up

acetone worked on my old 3555's. I assume it will on yours. Where did you get them?

GT changed the stencil at some point to make it harder to remove. I have had some that acetone on a rag would take off, and other shafts that the same method wouldnt touch.

I ended up wiping the stubborn ones with acetone, then using OOOO steel wool to remove the stencil. Wiping it with acetone seems to soften the stencil enough that it doesnt take alot to remove it with the steel wool. Doesnt appear to hurt the wood grain finish on them at all.

CE has made it harder to get their logo off the Heritage shaft also.

Stuff called Goo-Off or Goo-gone is the best for removing the stencil

On my GT Trads I just used alittle lacquer thinner, alittle milder then acetone but either will work fine.GT Trad logos come off pretty easy compared to other brands.

Please don't work me over to hard but I have to ask why you want to take off the logo. I have never shot carbon just wood. Is it shiney or something?

deepcat

thanks for the help every one. Mooseman i just want them to look more like wood i still shoot wood but i just love the way carbon flys u don't know how many people think there wood and not carbon i have to show some people

mooseman1967

Thanks for the answer deepcat, I guess when I think carbon I see black or gray, a wood grain shaft would look cool without any writing on it.

ACETONE!!!

It's actually quite magical to see it completely disappear with one single wipe.

I just received a dozen blem GT 3555's from Big Jim a week ago.....My other Gold Tips needed just a few swipes with a rag with lacquer thinner on it to completely remove the logo....not these blems....had to really wipe hard for a minute to get most of it off....can still see a faint image of the logo....will try acetone....shafts do really look great without the logo

Mooseman,

Thanks for asking.  Otherwise I'd have had to.
Don't meddle in the affairs of dragons; people are crunchy and taste good with ketchup.

deepcat,

I never saw a blem shaft till I bought these....8 of the shafts had minor cosmetic blems....the other 4 looked perfect!.....they seem to shoot just as good as the standard ones....probably is all I will practice with from now on....I'm thinking about ordering some more after my experience with these.

I have had some problems removing some of the logos also. This is not normal thoug. I just cut my shafts off of the back end and then put 9" wraps on. All gone, no problem.

Want some really special looking trads, dye them with shaft dye or leather dye.
They look really cool.
