What does the Lone Wolf use around the tree?  I have a climber that has a chain (bicycle stlye) and have used climbers with a large, stiff cable.  The cable is much better.

Not in the market just yet, but curious.

ka

Summit Viper. Very comfortable, safe and no problems shooting out of it!!

I like my LW sit n climb, but seem to cuss it every time I use it. I don't like how it packs together, too many straps. Seat is too narrow for us full figured fellers. I know there is a newer wider version but I ain't chuckin down another $350 for it.

Im not debating on LW versus Summit. Im looking towards the new design like the Openshot, Clear Shot and Stalker series from Loggy Bayou. I was hoping someone had some insight to these stands, and the compatibility with the "acorn climbing aid". It replaces the upper sections of the stands, thus the need for a fold up seat.

I dont think the wife would let me drop the cash on a LW or Summit anyway...  :D

Looks like there are two main tresstand companies out there though.  :saywhat:

Don't know about the acorn thing, but if you have a bushmaster I'd go to summit's website and just order the open shot top for 129. That's what I did. The large platform and the open shot top weigh 16.5 lbs. on my scale, which is accurate by the way. I have a lone wolf hand climber and a sit and climb and I'm selling them both.
I don't have a problem.  I can quit deer hunting anytime I want.

summits are the best for me I love them I got mine in 2001 an still good to go

I love my Loggy. Bigger platform that LW or anyother I have tried. Once the seat is attached to the tree nothing compares to the stablity and size of my Loggy. I don't care for the loggy sit and climb part, I'm still looking for just the climbing part, The Acorn doesn't look like its for us old guys. Anybody know of a good just pull up part?????

TCW   there is a "fan belt like" belt that goes around the tree.  There are 5 or 6 steel cables inside the rubber belt, and the rubber belt has knobs that grip the tree and that are gripped by the cams inside the stand.  If that makes any sense??..

Bob Morrison thanks for posting thast website I like that 12# climber and the deer cart..

I have a LW "hand" climber I've used once only because it was the worst experience I ever had going up a tree in a modern day climber---> save your self the sweaty workout and get the sit and climb if you go with LW...
