Hello, I would like to purchase a new (or better) recurve bow.  I have been playing around with some old ("yard sale") bows for a few seasons and have an overwhelming desire to get good enough to hunt exclusively with traditional gear.  I have  a very short draw length (about 24 1/2" with my recurve).  For my first decent bow should I look for a shorter bow because of my short draw length or would it really make any difference?  I can pull and shoot comfortably a 55-60# bow which I assume equates to approximately 44-49 #'s.  Are the longer length bows (60" and more) better suited to archers with longer draw lengths?
Any suggestions as to what bows may work well for me would be appreciated.  My budget is only in the $300 range but I know once I get situated this would most likely be a transitional bow until I can trade up?  I would like something that could be make to shoot quietly.  Thanks for input.  Dale

Come up to Rutland and I can let you try a bunch of different length bows and you can decide for yourself what fits you.

I would welcome the opportunity to connect with you and the trip is very doable for me (after this weekend which is the last of the early archery season, as you know.  I just need info. on where to locate you.  Thanks.

PM me your phone number and good times to call and we'll get a couple of Trad Gangers here for you to meet. Yeah I'm unavailable this weekend for the same reasons.

It sounds like I may have hit the jackpot, finding a local guy that knows his stuff.  This is what I really need.  Thanks for the input all!
