off the shelf natural fur rest 60 inch bow 47# at 28" but I'm 30"   easton 2016 lite xx75 gamegetter.  Loud smack of arrow against bow.  I'm sure the deer will jump or duck.....

What do I need to look for to quiet the bow.
different arrow?
more fur on rest?
adjust nocking point?
twist string and change brace height?
get a new bow that shoots from a rest rather than the shelf???
get a compound bow     :knothead:

any of your questions in this order until it's solved...
1. brace height... are your arrows flying straight or fish tailing back and forth?

2. Nocking point...are your arrows flying straight or porpoising up and down.

3.More fur on rest... you have something soft on the side of the rest, right? If you do put a thin shim under the side plate to minimize contact there.

4.Different arrow... if you are drawing that bow 30" then you might need a 2018 instead.

5.Get a new bow...It's rarely the bow, but an elevated rest will work on any recurve bow.

6.Get a compound bow.... get real!!

The arrows definitely are not flying straight.  I'll pay attention tomorrow and see if they're fish tailing or porpoising

There is fur on the side. The side is convexed and the fur covers the "hump".  But I'd feel better if it covered the side front to back so I'll do that.

I draw 30" for sure.  I'll get some 2018's tomorrow.

Several friends loan me compound bows.  I love the accuracy but I'm sticking with recurves if I can get this recurve bow shooting arrows well.  Right now though I don't have any confidence in my accuracy with it.  I've killed a deer with a bow and felt confident with my accuracy but not with this one.

Check this site out.  Very informative in getting the best arrow flight possible.  I found tuning my arrow/bow combo was just as fun as going out just to do some shooting.

Accuracy will come more easily when your equipment is tuned.

Good luck to ya.
