Longarrow that is cool...I have been close enough to hear an elk's stomach growl and hear their knees pop when they walk, and now been stepped on by a forky, but a wet-willie from a mulie is WILD  :)

That's awesome! I've had them lick the ladder right underneath my stand on occasion, but never close enough to touch. You'll never forget that hunt.

a few years back I sat down against a stump at the side of a woods road and fell asleep. Something woke me and I opened my peepers to find two whitetail fawns sniffing at my boots. Their mom was 15 yards or so off in the brush watching.

Why I once had this deer..... Just kidding!   :bigsmyl:

It would be hard to top that one.  That was just too cool.

I once had a black bear bite the sole of my boot while I was taking a nap. I was moose hunting in St. James Bay near Juneau, AK and was taking a noon time nap under a couple of big fir trees.  I was awakened by a pretty good tug on my foot.  I sat up and there was this young black bear staring wide eyed at me.  It took a second or two for both of us to figure out the situation.  He backed off, woofed at me and hauled tookus.

I guess I had stepped on a dead salmon or something.

And I thought the whole picture of a hunter asleep in the woods with a buck of a lifetime standing a few feet away was just a crule joke that a hunters wife dreamed up.  Sounds like now, thats just a real as real can be.

Really cool stories to tell grandkids about right there.  I can hear it now, kids back when I was able to hunt, I was so good, (fill in your story here).   :biglaugh:
