I've been in and out of Trad archery for years. I've ask several local guys about ways to care for my shooting glove. Ways to improve shooting life of the glove as well as some way to make the leather slicker, to improve release. No one really knows. What do you guys suggest ?

'TGMM FAMILY of THE BOW"at 211 degrees water is hot.at 212 it boils and cause's steam, which can run a locomotive.is it worth that one extra ounce of effort to finish first, the difference between good and great?

Occasionally I will wash my Damascus glove in warm water with a mild soap. I blot out the excess water with a dry towel and put the glove on my hand to reshape it. Then I let it dry. After it dries I use Montana Pitch Blend and really "grease " it up with hand rubbing to heat it up and help the penetration. After it has taken all the pitch blend it wants I wipe off the excess.   Washing it first removes the salt and acids from the sweat your hand releases when used.

Wash with soap and water, let dry, apply Mink oil(buy it at Walmart). This has worked well for me.

Soap/water and Snowseal (I think it is mink and wax). Reshape it to hand like others mentioned- smooth and soft.

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

I asked myself the same thing. So when I was oiling my leather boots with obenaufs leather shoe treatment I went ahead and wiped my Damascaus glove. Glove was in real need of care, works great.

Been using the same tab for 22 years now - I use Montana Pitch Blend stuff on mine. Guess it works!! Plus it has a good pine smell I like.

Always be stubborn.

Thanks Guys...Looks like everyone has some variation of the same idea. Clean the glove and oil it down with some form of non-petroleum based
conditioner.

I build my gloves and a few for friends and I treat them with Obernauf's leather dressing from Russell Mocassin Co. I like the the Montana Pitch Blend as well. GY
