Will someone please explain what duoflex is, how it works, and what makes it special?  I have seen the term used to describe bows, seen bows called duoflex bows, but am clueless what it really is. I did find one site with info on Willcox, it's in German.

The Wilcox duoflex was a hickory backed bow that had a deflexed riser and workging recurved limbs - two (duo) curves (flex).

Most of the bows made today (not the Hills) could be termed "duoflex" as they all have the same general profile of a deflexed riser and various amounts of recurve in the limbs, ranging from the Reflex/Deflex (R/D) longbows (aka "non-contact recurves) to true working recurves.

Thanks, Jeremy.  That explains why I've seen longbows and recurves referred to as duoflex.  I guess it's the "original" (or at least a unique) term for reflex/deflex.
