In response to the answers on keeping feathers dry.  Where are you guys getting the Grey Goose feathers at?

Are we talking about Canada Goose feathers? If so, I used to pick them up by the hundreds at the local park when the geese would molt -- usually around June. The only problem I had was that I couldn't see them in flight.

I also pick mine up at ponds I bass fish at.I also have a stream well creek 30 yards wide I fly fish at I'm always puting wing feathers in my vest. And I'll hit the public park up at the begaining of summer.Molt time Mid may to mid June here in WV.

I probably live in the Goose capital of the world in the fall time. Buddies of mine are guides and take all the birds to a local cleaner where i have acess to bags of wings.Come this fall I'll try to gather some. Just keep in touch.

I run a shaft through the goose and roast it. Then I sort through the flight feathers while my dinner settles. Broad flat secondarys for fletchings the rest for wings on dry flies.

Jason: If they are legal where  you hunt the lumenoks make using goose feathers very practical.
