Most of us are looking at 2 to 3 months until we are able to "tighten the string" on whitetail or other big game.
What kind of projects are keeping everyone busy until cooler weather and hunting season gets here?
Here are a few of mine

So far I have finished four and working on my fifth bucksin. Going to try to have a set of leggings and a new quiver before Fall

Here are a few point I've been working on to go with three dozen bamboo arrows I've got started as well.
with that and a couple of selfbows I have started, I will be lucky to be finished in time.

How are you getting the smoke into the buckskin that is hanging next to you? Looks great and nice points too! Are you hunting with the points?

I start the smoking process by useing a desk top type stapler to staple two hides together, leaving a small hole at the bottom. To this I staple a pant leg cut off of some old jeans. I have some coals in a piece of stove pipe stuck in the ground a few inches to keep it from falling over. After you add the puncky wood to get the smoke going, Just pull the jean leg over the pipe. Works pretty good, but a metal 5 gallon bucket holds more coals and gets better smoke, you just have to do the jean funnel a little diferent.

Gatekeeper, yes I do hunt with the points, took three deer last year. Two does and one nice 8-point.
Here is a pic of some more recent points

Very nice points.  Want to learn how to do that.

Right now, I am working on my first selfbow and having a ball.  I am finally at the tillering stage.  Already have a couple of more staves lined up once this one is done.  I am also trying to figure out how to make some cane arrows.

Thanks for sharing.
