Tradgangers!
I`m shooting a BW PMA 50@28 and wondering about the spine i should order with Hexshafts. My draw is just a little beyond 28" The BW is cut 3/16 of an inch past center so the spine charts i`ve been looking at dont tell me the answer. So do any of u Tradgangers have a tip? should i go as high as 75# spine? I tested that with cedars with good results.

I bet you will end up shooting at least 75#. See if you can get a vendor of hex pines like Bob Burton to sell you a test set of different spined shafts. Set them up with your preferred length and point weight and see what flies. I'm betting at 29" shaft with a 125 point will need to be 85#.

Thanks!
I`ll contact whisperingwindarrows and order some different shafts and see what`s going to fly like darts:)

My 52# Widow recurve shoots from 55# to 75# woodies very well.  A 70-75# shaft is what I'd look for if making more hunting arrows (broadheads like a bit stiffer spine), but its a pretty forgiving bow within that 20# spine range.  Not sure about hexshafts, have never used them.

I shoot hexshafts off two PAX's 80-85's off 60#@28 w/ 638 gr arrow and 75-80's off a 54#@28 w a 590-595 gr arrow, so you may be around     70-75# depending on your set up and tip weight.
Lefties are the only ones who hold the bow in the right hand.

I draw both of the above bows to 29" and the shafts are footed.

black widow has a special formula for figuring out proper wood arrow spine for their bows. It's in the manual that i got with my bow, if you don't have it, you might call black widow to get it.

Margly

Thanks!
I also got a reply from Mr. Burton at whisperingwindarrows and he wrote that i should try 70-74# spine.
