Nooooooooo! it is too far from season.

QuoteEvery time I eat one of these steaks it reminds me why I can't pass a nice, fat doe to wait for something with antlers
ME TOO

My wife and I usuallly get 6 a year, grind the most for burger, dont buy any from the store, havent in 20 years. I have on tenderloin left, fixin it 4th of July when my daughter and her boyfriend come in. We are trying to clean the freezer out, my wife drew a BULL ELK tag for here in KY, Oct. 3-9, we feel good about the prospects, she has taken several deer. Good fat young doe meat is awful hard to beat though.

My son and I just grilled the last hog roast with fresh corn on the cobb this evening. It was donated by my brother in law. The deer stakes have been gone for weeks.    :(

We are down to about 10lbs of deerburger. Backstraps have been long gone. Family of 4 and we put 5 in the freezer this past year. Other than the backstraps I think our favorite are deer tacos ! No heartburn like Taco Bell's !

ketchup, chipotle mustard, limes,
gonic and tin.

Not necessarily in that order  :)

I lost all mine when I had to move.  I was trying to move and work the midnight shift at the same time,  so it was go to work come home and move some stuff then go back to work.  One day in between move and go to work I fell asleep when I sat down to eat.  :banghead:    Wife felt so bad for me she didn't even get me off the couch.  She didn't know I had two does worth of deer in the back of the truck.  Of course it had to be the only 90 degree day in March.  Didn't bather with a cooler as we were only moving a few miles.  :banghead:    End result about 100 lbs of half cooked half spoiled venison.  "[dntthnk]"    I feel your pain.
