Does it matter if you fletch feathers left or right helical depending on if you are a right or left hand shooter?  I'm getting ready to fletch some arrows, and always used right wing in the past.  The company I bought the feathers from sent me left instead, and I was wondering if it made a difference or not.

Thanks
Paul

No difference as long as you are fletching with a straight clamp. I am right handed and shot L wing feathers with off set.

If you have a clamp for left wing feathers (left helical) it won't matter. Trying to fletch with a right helical won't work so well. I tried it once and they stuck, but they look kind of funky! It really flattened down the fletches.

Otherwise most right hand shooters use left wing, but it's not a requirement. Some say the right wing feathers hit their finger on release. Others don't. Either will work as long as you have the correct clamp.

Thanks guys, I have the correct clamp, just wondering if one was better than the other.
