Texas used to have a 40# minimum, but no more. There is no poundage limit now for Texas. Texas has a huge population of feral hogs.

Dick, you need to move and come to Texas. BTW, I have a 35# bow on order and besides feral hogs, we have javelina. You need to hunt them.
Blacktail TD Recurve: 66", 42# @ 30". Arrow: 32", 2212. PW: 75 Grains. AW: 421 Grains. GPP: 10.02

Texas - no draw weight restrictions (they had a 40# weight limit until this year and TPWD did away with it). Also there are literally tons of pigs here. Come on down and shoot a few.

Nv States.
Must be capable of sending a 400 grn arrow of a minimum of 24" long,150 yrds.Doesnt state you must hunt with that 400 grn arrow, but it must be able to send it that far.Ive done it with a 40 lb recurve and a 450 grn arrow.Actually i surpassed it,so im convinced, that a 35 lber would do it.
Target archery is seeing how far away you can get and still hit the bull's eye. Bowhunting is seeing how close you can get and never miss your mark.

Oh,And the rumor is,there are hogs in Paradise valley area, but access is tough to get.LOL

Here in Jersey the minimum is #35 lbs we have a few pigs down in the southern portion of the state that you can hunt but i think fish and game is trying to really limit if not remove that population before they grow and spread out

Used to be a weight restriction (40 lbs.) in TN, but the current guide says, no pod arrows, must use a sharpened head, everything else is legal.

35# in Pennsylvania.  Most pigs are around the cities 8^).

trapperDave

35# in Indiana,,,but I think that just applies to deer.

BobCo 1965

NYS guys, just a tech bit of information, the bow needs to be 36#'s, 35#'s is unlawful.

George D. Stout

So, technically, you need to mark the bow 36# and you will be fine 8^).

George, what does your emoticon mean? I know 8 is wide eyed, and ) is happy, but not sure of the rest.

And yes, I think you have your statement correct. :-)

Utah is 40lbs. at the draw or peak which ever comes first. Gary

Many thanks, guys....  Obviously a number of states with no restrictions or below 40#... and the piggies mostly oink with a Southren' drawl.    I can handle those weights, even up to 45 if I recover a bit more.   Now, whether I could really handle hunting is another question.  I'll see how I do out stump shooting this summer and then maybe plan for something in the winter or spring if I think I can handle it.  I really appreciate all the info.   Hope other folks found it useful or interesting as well.

In AK, the limit is 50# for Moose and Brown Bear, #40 for all other 'big game', and unless I am mistaken, there is no set limit for small game.
