I have owned or shot just about evey make of bow out there.  The Hunter holds it's own with most. I sold everything else and bought a New Hunter.

For the money,  a Martin Hunter can't be beat.

The X200 is also a fine bow for the money. Simple, functional,  durable.

That Predator Recurve seems like a pretty darn good bow for the money too.

But if you are looking for THE BOW,  and you are going to spend @ $500.00, you might as well go ahead and get it over with and buy a used Black Widow, Morrison, Bob Lee, or Brackenberry. Eventually you WILL end up there, so why not save yourself some time,  money,  and frustration?
The toughest thing I've found about deer hunting is getting them to hold still long enough for me to stick an orange spot on them and then step off the yardage...

I have a Howatt Hunter and love it. I also was looking for something better and ordered a custom bow from a well know maker and have shot it for a couple of years.  Last year I went back to my Hunter bow and it shoots circles around the custom bow.

Long story short ... after side by side tests.. I went back to the Howatt Hunter last year and have a lot more confidence in my shooting.  Expensive custom bows are not always the best!!
