I'm thinkin about getting a tripod stand...anyone have experience with these?

I'm looking at gorilla 9' field edge, Summit xpod and predator, realbark 7'.... any more recommendations...

I want one thats as light as possible incase i want to put one up on a public land hunt.

I spent 2 hours in one and never again. Maybe it was the stand - American Outdoors or something like that. Didn't feel very stable and didn't like wind. I'll take a tree or a blind anytime

I have a quad we use in short pines that's great.  Tough to move though takes two to three to move

I also recommend the summits X-pod and the little one that's like the x pod

Don't use them all the time but some "no tree" situations call for them

I can't stand the surround rail difficult to shoot over under depending on bow length.
Not for everyone.

Mr. Ray,
The little summit stand, how easy is it to move? it says it is only 40lbs, its about 6 feet tall?

I think that would almost be perfect, just over the brush, no rails and high enough to see out. I also think it would be high enough to throw the deer off a little if well placed.

Ok i have narrowed it down to the Summit Predator Pod and Big Game Treestands Pursuit

Predator Pod - 40 lbs 6 ft tall

Pursuit- 60 lbs 12 ft

Both are 360 degree and easily moveable. Take a look at them and give me an opinion... I'm use to ground hunting and want to try something different

I would go with the pursuit havent used either but that extra 6 fit with ony 20 increased wieght in my mind would be well worth it that 6 ft will make a huge differnce
