I would like to build a bow but not just by ordering a binghams kit. I want to study up on the physics of design before building a cookie cutter type bow. Im not slamming those who have and may go that route but I need to know why on things so I see the big picture. Being an electrician has probably something to do with it. Any recomendations on books or other media would be appreciated.

What kind of bow would you like to build?  Maybe a selfbow, laminated wood bow, or fiberglass laminated bow?
I didn't claw my way to the top of the food chain to eat vegetables!

I like the idea of building laminated bows curves and longbows and figured to build a kids bow for the first one. I have all the necsasary shop equipment and have already built a hotbox long enough for a 70" bow.

I recommend the Trad Bowyer's Bible and especially the bow design chapter for a good understanding of why bows do what they do.
Take a kid hunting!
