I shot the grizzlystiks for awhile and they are awesome shafts....BUT I caught myself being extra careful with them. At a bow shoot where a missed target might mean a lost arrow I would almost get the shakes thinking about losing a $10+ arrow. I killed two caribou and a couple of whitetails with them. Lost one in the George river when it passed thru the first bull, broke another when the second bull crashed on the rocks. Shot both whitetails with the same arrow.  I switched to Beman/Easton shafts and although they aren't cheap, the thought of losing one doesn't way so heavy on me! LOL! I guess I am just cheap. They are great shafts though. As far as the broadheads are concerned, if I was hunting heavy boned critters, I would most likely opt for the 160/190 gr. grizzly with a 100 or 125 gr. stell adapter. Oh, I really can't afford to pull out any hair, it comes out quickly enough on it's own. Mike

Man some of you guys are sensitive those are called little white lies.  Now if a man works all his life and one day decides he wants to spend $200 on a bad to the bone arrow combo I don't think that is to much to ask for.  I am sure if old Unlewhit did not have the money he would not be considering it.  Dude just tell her that is your christmas and birthday present early.  I reckon if a man stays out of the bars and away from the women he should do about any sensible thing he wants without catching any static.

Hattrick

I would buy the heads any way i believe i could justify the cost of those, but not the shafts...   Its a lot of good stuff out there as good or better than those shafts an half or a 3rd the price...

I couldn't convince myself to pay that much, although grizzly stiks are probably top of the line.  I've never shot one.....have you?

Tell her they will last forever if you don't loose them, or an animal doesen't run off with it or fall on it.......Hmmmmmmmm it is a tough sale.

Do you happen to have a friend that shoots them that also has a wife that worships the ground he walks on..............Yeah I know......What are the chances......

Any how.....If so........get together with them for an evening and slip in a little archery talk.  If he mentions that his wife thought it was a good idea to get the best shafts available then maybe your wife will pull the old ......I'm as good a wife as she is and your shafts are on the way!

Good luck.........................

Always strive to do the right thing. Don't beat yourself down when you mess up. Ask for forgivness and keep on keeping on.

Rest assured guys, I have no intention of spending that kind of money on 6 shafts and 3 broad heads. Now, I'm sure that they are great, but their out of my price range, way out!

Your wife is a smart woman. Those Ashby broadheads are waaaay over-priced. Aboyer broadheads are less than half the price and just as good a head. The Grizzly stiks aren't a bad deal, they're comparable to other carbon arrows price wise.

BobT

I am super lucky! My wonderful wife of 27 years seldom even asks me how much something costs. I do ask her before I spend a significant amount but her normal response is " what are you asking me for? Go ahead and get it!"

Having said that, my normal set-up is a cedar shaft and Zwickey Eskimos or old green Razorheads, I really splurged the other day and bought a dozen new Legacies!

Hey Grinch - being from Oklahoma you know better than to call your clothes an outfit; those cowboys will start lookin' sideways at you.   :biglaugh:
