I am a left eye dominant/right handed shooter. I have heard stories of people like me using an eye patch to cover the left eye. Has anyone else tried this and if so did it actually work?

Sorry about that, but it's early in the morning and I couldn't resist.   I spent Saturday with my cousin, who's the Captain of Seattle's Seafair Pirates.   Hope someone comes forward and gives you a real answer

In Masters of the Barebow volume II, one of the presenters, Larry Yien, has a similar problem.  He is a gap shooter and he closes or squints his left eye when aiming.  He even made a point of commenting on it during his presentation.  This seems to work for him as a gap shooter.  If you are using another method you will lose all depth perseption for your shot.  Good luck and keep shooting.

My ex-wife had the same problem and she used an eye patch.  It helped her shooting a lot and after a while your right eye will probably become dominant (or at least trained to be dominant) and you can do without the eye patch.

Well for the 5 bucks it will cost me at the pharmacy I might as well give it a try. Seems to be enough evidence to support its use.

I tried it once but my depth perception was so bad that I kept hitting low, give it a try.

I wear it around the house a few hours a day to try and strengthen my right eye...my right eye has very poor vision so I switched to lefty...I cant see good enough out of my right eye to shoot righty with my left eye closed

Yah I have tried to close my left eye but I just can't seem to do it and keep my right eye open. I can easily close my right eye of course. Ain't that always the way.

There is a person that I see at the 3-D shoots that wears one.It works for this person, their a pretty good shot.

Do you wear glasses?

If yes, just put some scotch tape over your left lens. The fuzzy image will be enough for your brain to use the other eye.

I don't but I hear that the Navy Seals have three spare ones off the coast of Africa
