Looking for any pictures of Chechen wood , thinking of having a bow made with it, I have used it before in a bow I made but it varies a lot and would like to see some other examples if possible.
Thanks

One picture, or even a half-dozen, won't help much.  Chechen can vary a lot, in grain, pattern, color, etc.  Most of what I've seen looks similar to cocobolo, with the occassional wild patch of odd color thrown in.

thanks Chad, it will help me. I have used it and am familiar with it, just looking for a range of what it can be.
Take care !

Do a search for "New Silvertip". Billy Shipp's new bow had a Chechen flare that may be a little different than what you have seen before.

The darker wood on riser #4 in this picture is Chechen with Canary wood.

No pics to post but I have a bow with chechen riser and it's a pretty non-descript brown and black.
The years accumulate on old friendships like tree rings, during which time a kind of unspoken care and loyalty accrue between men.

the wood does vary alot. my riser is almost iridescent....browns, yellows, and reds. its very pretty in the sunlight. the stripes are osage which has now turned darker.

I occasionally use Chechen and it has a real resinous amber "depth" that you don't get with many woods.  The grain is often "muddy" but the better pieces resemble straighter-grained bocote.
