I'm considering buying a bamboo backed hickory longbow. Are they are durable and reliable as one backed with fiberglass. How do they do while hunting in wet conditions? I can get the longbow with either backing, but I sure like the way the bamboo looks. Do these hickory bows lose alot of poundage over time?

i have a hickory long bow i bought at an archery tournement 13 yrs ago. its rawhide backed and a smooth shooter. i couldn't tell you how many arrows ive shot with it. its extremely quiet. you wouldn't be wasting your money.

Hickory and boo are both great on a bow. I wouldn't second guess buying it.
