If you compare a Cheyenne with a Lil Favorite so as to compare two recurves, the speeds are very similar. The longbows are not quite as fast unless exotic materials are used, i.e., foam cores and carbon backing.

I know that hypotheticals like this are just a pleasant "game," but I was actually thinking of Classic Hunter style with foam and carbon as I "pondered."  I was guessing it might take 3-4# more to give the same familiar arc as the static-tipped Cheyenne.  It is just that... a wild guess.  I thought there might be enough of the Shrew Crew around to have had some sort of experience with both types.

I imagine you are right, as there seems to be a relatively small variation between a lot of the top performing bows. I was just a-wonderin'...
