I have an old Ben Pearson Cougar bow that has cracks in the finish. They don't seem to go deep into the limbs. Is it safe to shoot this bow? If not, any suggestions on repairs?

I think I would play it safe and hang it up until you can have a reputable bowyer look at it.
Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

Sam, I have seen Bear bows with cracks in the finish, not the glass or laminations that were ok to shoot. That being said, it would probably be ok. Talk to the bow doc and post some pictures if possible.

post some pics, probably OK

Are the cracks running with the grain of the glass or across it?
