Aluminum arrow question

I am trying to figure out what aluminum arrows to use for my set up. I have looked at several charts and my question is what does the numbers actually stand for? Ex. 1916, 2013

shaft diameter wall thickness

The first 2 digits are the width of the shaft, the 2nd are the thickness of the shaft wall. 1916's would be a lot stronger.

Thanks guys. So a 2016 would be the same diameter as a 2018, but the thickness of the wall on the 2018 would be thicker than the 2016, and therefore the 2018 would be a little stiffer. Is this correct?

2216s are a favorite of trad bow shooters with heavy or light bows. Just seem to work well. IMHO

the first two 20 is in 1/64 of an inch. the second set is in .001 of an inch. So a 2018 is 20/64" and is .018" thick.

if you give some info about you're setup, you'll get someone that will start you off on the right foot.

Don't rely on the easton charts too much. i shoot a 2018 at 29.25" long out of a Martin Hatfield and I draw the arrow to the riser, which puts me at 59#. According to the charts I am supposed to shoot a 2219. They were way too stiff and nearly made me give up. Now I have the right arrows and shoot fine, for me.

breid, I am currently shooting a Abbott longbow. I dont know how far off center the rest is. My draw length is 26". the bow is 48lbs. at my draw length.

Any help on arrow size, length, and point size would be greatly appreciated.

I place a add in the classifieds arrow section asking to by a couple arrows of a couple of different sizes to try.

1916's would fly great out of that weight bow. I use them for all my bows from 47 to 52lbs.

Jason's right on with the 1916 suggestion. They're really tough to find, but a 1918 is another winner. 1916's are still made and easy to find.

I shoot 1916 Legacy's in my 45-50# bows. You can get them from 3 Rivers.

Remember, I only have a 26" draw. Do you all still think the 1916s would work, not to stiff. Arrow would only be 27 to 28".

I draw 27" with a 28" arrow. 125gr points.

I draw 26.5", and I agree with the 1916 arrows. I shoot a lot of 2013, too, but they are hard to find with swaged nocks. Lots out there with Uni-bushings.

I am shooting a Morrison Cheyenne at 46 pounds.
