I am planning on doing some bunny hunting in the next two weeks to get some fresh meat as a knee injury kept me out of the deer woods this year.

I need some reccomendations on a good small game head for rabbits, should I just use a broadhead, or would a blunt or judo be a better option?

Being a poor college student, i like to make as much of my own stuff as possible so if you have an easy-to-make small game head I would love to hear about it.

Thanks

38 caliber cartridges with lead fishing weights melted into them will work.

I agree. The hammer heads work great I also use the Ace Hex blunts.

made these with heavy gauge wire and a drill bit.

There are a lot of good rabbit points. Jake's idea of a washer behind your field points is probably the least expensive, and still very effective.

As far as commerically made heads, I'll stick with Ace Hex Heads. They're about $9 for six and work extremely well. And if you buy them directly from Ace (sponsor here) you'll pay ACTUAL shipping, not an overly inflated rate.

I made these really cheap.  Ground off the weight of the washer and cut a cross hatch in the face of a normal field point.  Work very well!

Save a bunch of money and buy some regular old blunt, if ya shoot glue ons take some dike pliers and cut 4 or 5 little slits in the back of the point than roll them out a tad with pliers, they pass thru but are harder to pull back thru the rabbit, this way with luck the arrow stays with the bunny as he tries to escape! You want cheap but very effective this is it!  Shawn
