Help me decide. Say you have a bow brand X that you really like . The weight feels good at 59lbs at my draw. Looking to purchase another brand X bow. For arguments sake I either want 4 more ponds or 4 less pounds. My ? is which way would you go (heavier or lighter) and why.  Thanks David

GrnMtnTradNut

Lighter, cause 59lbs is enough to kill any critter in N. America and if you need to go back and work on form or just sore and tired lighter is more fun to shoot IMHO. Chris

Why four pounds, more or less? Why change at all if you're happy at 59#?

Or is it that you've been offered two bows, one at 55# one at 63  :)  If that's the case, buy the prettier one!  :biglaugh:

Lighter for when you need to shoot in colder weather.

Been there.  Done that.  Lighter.

Hey, I know this man.... He'll end up with both! LOL!   :biglaugh:    :p

Alot of the new bows out there in lighter poundage shoot at levels that equal higher weights from years ago. I'd go light and as you get older you may keep a bow longer because it's user friendly!
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki

I'm with Robtattoo (literally next week as we hunt in Texas together-can't wait)! I'd stay with 59# unless I was offered a gift of one or the other then go by looks. Either weight should be close to fine if you are already shooting the 59er. You could easily make the adjustment. But then again Vermonster13 has a point. I use to think I was indecisive but now I'm not sure!  :biglaugh:

Get 'em both, and a couple more inbetween just in case.

Now then, get your weapons ~ your quiver and bow ~ and go out to the open country to hunt some wild game for me.  Gen. 27.3

The deal was Brand X had 2 stock bows. One 4lbs. heavier and one 4 lbs. lighter ready to go. I can't stand to wait on a bow. I'm trimming my herd to these 2 bows. I went lighter.

Same weight or lighter.  Focus on form... accuracy is much more important than poundage.  Keep it fun!

If it feels good to you, choose the same.

For argument sake, 65pounds has felt great to me for many, many years....so, I would go 65pounds if I were to purchase another of my brand X bows. I like the way my 65pound bows cast a 650 to 700grain arrow. I've actually been tempted to go 70pounds, but that is me as I like such longbows for hunting:)

Davey..call back and get the other one too.  No kidding you'll be glad you did and in a month or two you'll never miss the money but you WILL  have three great bows!
