I am new to trad shooting and I have some 125gr Montec from my wheelie bow. I was wondering if anyone uses them for trad. can i use these?

groyce

They will do just fine.

CareyE

If you keep them razor sharp, I don't see why not.

Yes, you can use them.
Make them as sharp as you can. There is a sharpening how-to for the Wensel head in the 'how-to' forum; it works for the G5 also.
There will be other opinions; and mine is - you should stick with what you know works...at first.
Shoot straight and the Montecs are as good on whitetails as any other head.

Stick with them.  I have been using them since I found them in 2001.  Turkey, bear, deer, caribou...

My father got a deer with one with his recurve.

  Fly Awesome and REDICULOUSLY easy to sharpen

I dug a bloody one attached to a broken shaft out of my Dad's deer this year, and sharpened it back up for him.  Sharpened pretty easily using the same technique I use for Woodsmans.  I prefer the latter due to gentler slope of blades, but no reason the G5's shouldn't work too.

I tried some Montecs out of my set up a few years back.  Couldnt get them to fly accurately and whistled like a freight train.  Ended up giving them away.  Try them out of your set up first and see how they fly.  If you get good flight, give em a go.  dino
