Thinking of switching from feathers to vanes for a number of reasons. Vane shooters what is your set up? Want a rest that is quiet and rugged. I know... rug rest are quiet and rugged,,but feathers aint.

Vanes?   Vanes?  We don't need no stinking vanes!

I would think a flipper and cushioned plunger would do okay, or just about any elevated rest.

I shoot vanes  off the shelf (one in the quiver for wet weather). I have a calf hair rest or velcro on my bows. I shoot cock feather straight up with vanes. Some shoot cock feather in, but up seems to work better for me. I also shoot feathers with the cock feather in and they last a lot longer (less shelf contact).

I will fletch up a couple with vanes to see if they will shoot off the shelf. Was wondering if with the brush rest or feather rest, would vanes shoot ok. Would have to be one of the stick on type rest. Dont want to go drilling holes in my bow.

Check the post above called true or false. It's being dicussed as we speak.
