Any Morrison Shawnee takedown longbow owners near Wichita, Ks. with the medium preferred grip?? I would like to feel the grip to see if I like it or need to order one with a recurve style grip. I have been shooting recurves, but have the urge to try a top end longbow and want to make sure I will like the grip before ordering.

Thanks, Mike Tibbits

Mike, I like the lower grip myself. Actually I have the med. and it felt too high so I had it taken down. I should have just got the Low in the first place.

I agree with leatherneck, the low wrist is extremely comfortable. I too had my medium wrist taken down.

One more for thee low grip.  This grip is the one I compare all others to.

Everyone talks about torque in a bow grip.  They're refering to movement left and right.  This is easy to eliminate with a light grip.  I believe a "high wrist grip" or recurve grip is condusive to up and down torque.  This is much harder to get rid of.

To further prove my point, the best shooters I know of Howard and Byron, both shoot/shot healing the bow.  Back in my dark side days I remember most good shooters taking their "grip" off their aluminum riser so they could "heal or palm" their bow.

Oh, oh, I forgot, this is MOST IMPORTANT, the pine cone looks better on a low grip.

I like the low grip better also.  I have two with the low grip and one with a medium grip.  Doesn't mean I don't shoot the medium, but I prefer the low...
