i was gonna buy a damon howatt super diablo from a co-worker for a 100.00. while looking it over after stringing it, i noticed that the limbs seem to be twisted quite a bit.
i was really looking forward to owning that bow. i had planned on using it at the bunny hunt.
so i have a couple questions for everybody.

1) can it be fixed? and how much would it cost?

2) should i buy it anyway? is shooting a bow with twisted limbs very bad??

it is 60" and 45# @28" serial# ESD3138
overall its in pretty good shape except for the limbs..   :banghead:      :banghead:

so, would you say that twisted limbs wouldnt be a reason to not buy that bow???
do you think 100.00 to much for that particular bow??(with bent limbs)

i really like the looks of it. and from what i've read the super diablos are quite fast!!

OK, twisted limbs would not keep me from buying a bow. I have straightened a bunch of them, and it's no trouble. As far as shooting it with the twist, it would depend on how twisted they are. If bad enough, it can cause the string to jump the grooves, with possible damage.

Depending on the condition of the bow, of course, $100.00 seems like a good price to me.

Depending on how much they are twisted, I'd probably haggle for a lower price, tho.

If they are not to bad they can be fixed, that being said I'd offer the owner less maybe $75 or $80 and see what happens.

jamie, buy it and bring it to our warm up, which will be next weekend, not this one. I will show ya how to do it and you can hunt with it right away. We will work on it while we hunt. Pretty easy really. Shawn

Run it under hot water at the kitchen sink, twist in corrected direction.Hold for 30 seconds & check.I fixed an old Ben Pearson like this that  was very bad.
Maybe he would let you try to fix before you buy it.Good luck -Ray.

Gaff
