Friends call me Pac

Last week I asked if there were any string makers in central Arkansas that would teach me how to make a Flemish string.  I recieved an email from some guy about 70 miles from home.  He told me to come on over and he would show me what I needed to know to start building strings.  I had no idea who Elmer was and had never heard of Crow Creek bows.  I know he had work to do but he stopped when I arrived and we began string making 101.  He has my respect.

I'm sure this is old hat for alot of folks but this is my very  first bow string.  I'm quite proud of it.

Just wanted to thank Elmer once again for taking the time to help me learn a little more when it comes to trad.  It didn't take but a few minutes to make my string so we spent a good deal of time on the back porch just talking about life in general.

I saw a few of his Crow Creek bows and they are beautiful.  I think I know what I want for Christmas next year.

I wish Elmer would sign-up and chime in. The man is a wealth of knowledge.

Nice job on the string!

I've never met Mr. Patton, but I have shot a couple of his bows and they are sweet shooting - and great-looking to boot!

Nice string and two thumbs up to Mr. Patton!

By chance... did he have any 64" Blackfeather models on the work shop table, or hanging up anywhere?  Hmmmm?????   :)

I'd tell if I knew the difference between the bows.  Mr Patton didn't talk shop and didn't even try to sale me a bow.  He was smart enough to know my mind was busy making sure I was twisting in the correct directions.

He did show me several bows but I have no idea what model they were.

Of course I could be lying, I am also a fisherman.   :saywhat:
