For you guys with ACS experience. I would like to end up with a 500 gr. arrow at  195+ fps. I have a solid 29" draw(maybe growing slightly), would like to know what would be the lowest weight limbs I can get away with to get this performance. Also would you go with 62" or 64" length? Thanks

Pat B.

I've got one thats 47 pounds that's getting in the low to mid 180's with a 525 grain arrow with about a 29" draw..

I sure like the 66" limbs!

I don't chrono stuff so can't help you out there, but at 29 plus inches of draw, I'd recommend the 64-inch bow, or even 66 inches.  Best to ask these questions of the A&H folks.

I think the 62 or 64 would be fine, I draw 30ish, I have shot both and I do not feel much difference.  I have two at 55 and 56, and with fingers get about 192 to 196fps with a 496 gr goldtip.  I seem to get better performance with the 64" limbs even though they are the lighter set.  Hope that helps.

I had a couple of 64", 54# and 57# I think the limbs work well with the  14" riser my 57# with a GT 490 grn. @28" chrono. around 185-190.
I really liked the bow's but the grip just wasn't for me.  :)

The longer the limb the more energy it stores and the more it will catch in brush too!   :scared:
There are some speed results on the website and Pete Ward has done a full review on his site-you can find lots of numbers there too.

I think you might get along better with a 64".  It will be a little smoother, and like Bjorn said, more stored energy.  I'm shooting a 600 gr arrow out of a 66" ACS CX (16" riser) that is 59# @ 31".  Chrono says 183-185.  Spits them right out and hits with authority.  A 55-56# bow and a 500 gr arrow should get you in the ballpark.  Good luck, let us know how it turns out.

Thanks for the responses. I think I will start looking for a 64" 51-53lbs at 28" set of limbs.

Cade, I was wondering how you like that 16" riser, and did you have any weight change going from a 14 to a 16?

bjorn is right the pete ward reviews are real nice
doug post pics when you get yours.

Doug, I really like the 16 RC riser.  It has a larger grip, a thumbrest, and finger grooves.  Fits my bigger hands quite well.  Judging by my hand-drawn bow scale, I lost not quite 2 lbs of draw weight.  Wish I knew how to post pics here I would show you the RC riser.  It's beautiful Zebrawood.  If you can't find a set of limbs used, go to A&H's website they have quite a few limbs in stock.  Good Luck!
