Hello,
All input is greatly appreciated.  I am about to get my first trad bow (highly r/d longbow 46# at my draw length of 27" with ff string). Arrows will be 28" BOP. I want to order wood arrows and was thinking of 50-55" spine with 125 grain field points and 55-60" spine with 160 grain points as a starting point and see how each performs.  What do you think?  Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

I have a similar thread  WOOD SHAFTS  my bow has little to no shelf.
We are roughly in the same area for draw weight.
The "cut to center" or less, will make a difference in spine weight.
Good Luck !!

What you're considering might work quite well, but may be just a tad on the light side given your high performance bow and string.  I recommend you start with the 55-60# shafts and try both heads on them.  Let that determine whether to go up or down in spine on subsequent shafts.  It's quite possible that both points will shoot well with the 55-60#.  Good luck.

If you're gonna stick with it, no pun intended. Invest in the three differently spined test arrows that 3 Rivers sells. Then you can move up & down w/ spine weight & see how different heads perform on your particular bow. . .
